Wikipedia defines yuppie (short for “young urban professional” or “young upwardly mobile professional“) as a term that refers to a member of the upper middle or upper class in their 20s or 30s. Despite its negative connotations, it’s a description we’ll gladly accept. Part of the fun is poking fun at ourselves. Do we enjoy Starbucks? Yes. Do we wear pink sweaters wrapped around our neck? Not usually.
This is a blog by Lyndsi and Marc, a twenty-something couple from Charlotte, NC. With dreams of traveling worldwide, we’ll start our adventures closer to home.
Our Mission
This blog is a result of our shared passion for traveling and our desire to share our experiences with others. Everyone deserves to get out of town to relax and rejuvenate, especially with their friends and loved ones. We hope we’ll inspire you to leave town and experience something new.
For now, we’ll travel mostly in America but we plan to travel the world in our journey through life together. Bon voyage!

About Lyndsi
I was born in Northern California, moved to the great state of Texas at the awkward and fragile age of 13, and jumped at the opportunity to move to North Carolina immediately following high school graduation. I now reside in Charlotte, North Carolina and often have an urge to pack my bags and move somewhere new (Denver, CO, anyone?) since I’m becoming all too familiar with the Queen City and North Carolina. I’ve never given any serious thought to moving again, but I’d definitely be open to it if an opportunity presented itself.
My friends like to describe me as a blonde who talks way too fast, way too loud, and with a little bit of a Texan accent. I like to describe myself as fun and fabulous. Sometimes I just get a little too excited about what I am talking about and the result is speaking louder than socially acceptable and talking so fast that true southerners have to ask me to repeat myself.
I’m a twenty-something young professional on weekdays and a twenty-something traveler every chance I get. My curiosity for unfamiliar places will always make escaping the Queen City a priority of mine. The love of my life, Marc, has been my travel companion for almost three years now. We have gone on many extraordinary weekend getaways together. We are truly blessed to be able to travel the way we do as twenty-somethings and we will never take traveling for granted. We’re now engaged, so maybe we’ll travel somewhere crazy in 2013!
Originally from Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky, I have lived all over the Eastern U.S., including New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia, and now North Carolina. I’m also a UNC Charlotte alumni (though I met Lyndsi after college). I’ve been an Internet geek since the ’90s when I started Sports Central, a sports fan magazine, due to my love of sports and passion for the Internet. Unbeknownst to me at the time, it would grow into a profitable business and remain with me into adulthood.
Aside from travel and my desire to see the world, I am a certified car enthusiast and some people fail to understand why I’ll drive hundreds of miles just to … drive more (twisties). I’ll also admit I’m an Apple fanboy and think Steve Jobs is a genius.
